On Sunday afternoon an elderly man accidentally drove his car through the entrance of a Rite Aid Pharmacy in Westbrook.

Jon McCabe, of Westbrook, was there to witness the scene.

“I pulled into the parking lot after him, and I saw him pull into the handicapped spot and hit his brakes,” said McCabe.

“Then he just kinda’ gunned his engine, drove over the curb, and right into the store.”

Calls to the store, understandably, were not answered.

According to McCabe, Westbrook police were on the scene, as well as “tons of people taking pictures.”

Rite Aid1McCabe said that the driver of the car looked, “stunned,” and remained in the vehicle for several minutes.

A woman who McCabe said appeared to be an employee of the store apparently suffered a foot injury, but that responders were taking care of her.
