Baby groundhogs wrestling caught on tape

On Sunday a South Portland man caught two baby groundhogs wrestling in his driveway on camera.

When he saw the two animals playing, Matt Stroder grabbed his phone and videotaped them from just a few feet away as others gathered around to watch.

I don’t live very far from Stroder, and just recently was able to capture a mother groundhog and her newborns as they nested under my shed for about two weeks.

A week or so ago, the family disappeared from under the shed, and I assumed they had outgrown their first home.

Judging from the size of the two wrestling in Stroder’s driveway, it’s a safe bet that they were two of the five babies from under the shed- about ten pounds heavier than when they left.

Looks like they’re doing just fine.
