Authorities searching for owner of badly abused puppy

First reported by WMTW News 8, a 5 to 6 month old pit bull-mix puppy was found badly abused in Newry on Friday morning.

The dog is suffering from extreme tissue damage from tape that was tightly wrapped around his muzzle.

The Newry animal control office is trying to track down the owner, and is asking for the public’s help.

The dog is currently at the Bethel Animal Hospital where staff is hoping they can save his mouth. They have named him Blue and say that he is very friendly, despite the horrific ordeal that he’s been through.

Anyone with information about Blue’s owner should call Animal Control Officer Sue Mulligan at 207-357-6796.
