3,000 bras strung across Casco Bay Bridge for breast cancer awareness

In solidarity with National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, an event was held on Saturday called “Bras Across the Bridge” in Portland.

To help raise awareness and money, local radio station Coast 93.1 put the call out for donations in an effort to string them across the bridge.

Listeners and supporters responded, donating thousands of bras, which was more than enough to span the entire bridge.

Once they come down from the bridge the bras will be donated to Goodwill, and Warner Brothers and Epic Records have each pledged a dollar per bra to the Cancer Community in Scarborough.
