Maine’s favorite Super Bowl snack? It might surprise you.

The people at Google have released a list of the most searched for snacks leading up to the Super Bowl 50 matchup between the Carolina Panthers and the Denver Broncos for every state in America, and the snack that Mainers searched the most for might surprise you.

One might think of traditional Maine dishes such as lobster rolls or some other form of seafood, others might assume a typical football tailgating food like chili or nachos, but none of those would be even close to the mark.

The snack that tops the list for Mainers this year is none other than beef stew.

Other states with surprising results are South Dakota with beef and noodles, Vermont with bacon bread bowls, and Oregon with brownies.

The most popular snack for all states combined is buffalo chicken dip.
