Tucked behind the sewage plant along the oft-neglected entrance to Back Cove in Portland, the legal graffiti wall lies off the beaten path of locals and tourists alike.
Since Friday though, the popular haven for spray paint artists has been getting some extra attention thanks to a controversial mural of Maine Gov. Paul LePage that has been painted along its length.
Photos of the mural have been shared widely on social media in the past few days, with most people showing support for the creation of the images, and a small percentage opposing them.
The creator(s) of the mural- which is presumably in response to LePage’s latest fiasco– did not claim credit for the work on the wall.
